An United Earth

When I was a kid. In my primary school, we used to sing morning prayers and it used to end with National Anthem of India. And even now whenever I go for a movie, India’s national anthem plays on before the starting of movies. I see people showing diligence and respect towards nations. I often see them fighting and debating over that who’s country is greater one. Whenever India succeeds in the launch of a new rocket or probe or testing of a missile; I see the news telecasts that how we defeated nations in the race. I see people being so proud of their nation while abusing or cursing the other countries. You need visa to go to another country and if you cross border without visa you’re doomed, like Sarabjeet singh, who was just a normal villager of india. He crossed the border without even knowing that he had crossed it and his rest of life ended up in the prisons of Pakistan. He died in there waiting to return to his country once again, to see his family once again.
We hate those who we’ve never met just because of the ‘Nation thing.’ we’ve divided earth into the nations, nations into states, states into cities, cities into areas, areas into homes, homes into persons and persons into religions. Is there no end of this partition? There are national anthems but why not an ‘earth anthem’?

Where’s the meaning of ‘vasudhaev kutumbkam'(whole earth is my family) we were taught in the schools? On the one hand they teach this phrase and on the other hand they teach, ‘nothing is above your nation.’
Human had partitioned the land for the ease to develope it but now it has become battlefield for the tiny pieces of it. We slaughter just to make our territory on the unclaimed places.
If you could just go out into the space and look at earth, what would you see? Would you see boundaries? Would you hear the national anthem? No, you’d just see a blue sphere with all of its beauty, you’d see earth, unite in all of its beauty. ‘One earth’ you’d see, not two hundred nations. You’d see that earth hasn’t divided itself till yet while we have. If you’d look around, you’d find just black vast space. Look at earth again, there’s life. Now look around again, there’s no life.

Now just think, you’re in the space and on earth, everyone is FIGHTING for PEACE(irony). Sooner everyone wipes each other out to attain the peace and prove that which nation and religion is the most peace loving.
Now look at the earth again, no life and look around in the space, no life again. We’re unique, not because of the fact that we’re the only known life in our solar system but because of the fact that we Human are greedy, foolish and selfish. Selfish enough to destroy our habitat and foolish enough to think that we’ll attain it by quarreling with each other.
One of my most favorite pictures and quotes are one named, ‘pale blue dot.’ In 1990 when Voyages 1 was 3.7 billion miles away from earth, diving into the deep space at the speed of 40,000 miles per hour, took this picture of our home, Earth, which is merely a tiny fraction of a pixel (0.12 pixel) in this picture.

Do you see this? It’s our home and here’s my favorite quote by my favorite scientist, Carl Sagan for my favorite photograph-
”Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands
of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar,” every “supreme leader,” every saint and sinner in
the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how
eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our
obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could
migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.
It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building
experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it
underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another,
and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known

I was greatly moved by the speech when I read it. If only you understand the intensity of the words said by him, you’d know that there’s something new born inside of you. Let’s help making a united world, where our descendants would sing an anthem for The ‘United Nations Of Earth.’

Why are we so divided?

When humen appeared on earth, there was nothing to divide them. they lived together and breeded, even Neanderthals and sapiens did cross-breeding (totally different origins of humen). Then Neanderthals went extinct where sapiens survived.
Everything was better but then suddenly homosapiens discovered a new thing, RELIGION, somehow things still were pretty good. And then a few Cunning Sapiens started to use it as a weapon and started to work over a new discovery, DIVIDE AND RULE.
Being the descendants of Monkeys, we learnt to belive what our ancestors created without understanding it and now we work accordingly, churches and temples rule us.
Human behavior reminds me about a story, i’ll mention here-
Once  they placed two chimpanzees in a cage, there was a pole in the middle of the cage and bananas were hung at the top of that. They respectively climbed and ate. Then they put a monkey in the cage, he too saw the bananas and tried to climb when two other chimpanzees dragged him down and beat him as the bananas belonged to them as they lived there all the time before.
Then they took the monkey out and placed him in another cage with a pole in the middle of it and bananas hanging at the top of that. He sat downside all the time and stared at them. Then they placed another monkey in the cage, he saw the bananas and tried to climb. This time the first monkey dragged him down and beat him and so thus the cycle went on with each new monkey they placed in the cage.
First monkey did not know that why did the chimpanzees beat him. All that he knew was that he tried to climb the pole and they beat him, that was all that he learnt. He thought that anyone who climbs the pole should be beaten where he was unaware of the reason. And it started a cycle of the same behavior.
We human behave the same, we act what we experience. We don’t use our brains to understand specific things and it generates hatred. Hatred towards gays, other religions, species etc.
We don’t want to realise that we have an intellect and we could decide what our personality should be. We are scared of things we haven’t seen or known just because our ancestors were scared of them too.
And same as those monkeys, who would finally starve to death in the cage, we would demolish ourselves.
Use what you’ve got in the upper of your skull. Analyze that if you don’t accept a thing, would it harm you? Trade your places and try to think accordingly. Analyze that if you accept a thing, would it not harm you? Think that if your orientation makes others same as you are? How would their orientation make you one like them? Think that if your hate towards something serves some purpose or benefit to you? Think that if something really needs your acceptance when it has nothing to do with you?
Alter your Vista, alter your heart.
Free your mind of all the pollution, start to think fresh.
Analyze your beliefs, if they are rational?
If differently wired people are not made of bone and flesh?
Same as you.. Answers lie within but all that is needed is THINK BY YOURSELF INSTEAD OF FOLLOWING WHAT YOU WERE TAUGHT TO BELIEVE IN.

Are you following waht you believe in?

We sacrifice our dreams and our ambitions to get a so called ‘social reputation.’ We leave those we love and want to marry because our parents don’t want it to be and we drag ourselves into the things we never wanted to get into.
Everyone of us does it because nobody believes that they could go their own way and could still have a potential to make everyone accept you. No, we all behave coward when it comes to stand for what we believe in just because our parents and society believe in something else.
We are always afraid of hurting the ones we love, of letting our parents down because we believe that the thing we stand for would hurt them. We all go the same in the end; we all will end up dying with same last deep breath. Do you think that you would return after it and count that what difference you had made? Even if you return to calculate it, you’d just find a same stereotypical path you continued to build because society was walking on it and they wanted you to carry that weight for sooner elders were going to die and they needed someone to take care of the routes they had created. What would you trade for your dreams? Are your dreams that much cheap that you could trade them for society’s beliefs?
Let’s just think about it; if you’re a theist and believe that God judges the right and wrong then why do you act according to the society’s judgements? If you’re an atheist and believe that there’s no God and you’ve a free will then why is that free will influenced by the people outside?
Today one of my relatives visited my home. His son and me, we both were pursuing the same course. Now his son has a job while I don’t. He started to tell my parents that how much their son earns and stuff while, me? I’m jobless, I should get a job. I was like, ‘why was he so much concerned about my job?’ Did he care about me? No, obviously not. He wanted to show off and tell that how much talented his son is and how much worthless i am. But why should i do something i don’t want to do? My dreams are different than his son’s and i am pursuing them.
Why does society always tell us what they want us to believe?
You’re the hero of your own story and none should guide you about how to write it. You’ve grown up, you know how much your dreams are worth. But you don’t believe in yourself that you could also choose your dreams because that path is harder, because you’d have to build that by yourself only and none would help you in doing so? Maybe? It would be only you who would navigate you and none will lay a hand. While on the contrary, the path which society suggests you to walk on is created by them and is smooth to walk upon, majority walks that way and you won’t need to be navigated because all that you’d need to do is to follow the mob.
And do you know the fact my dear friend? None will remember you because you were in the mob.
The one who walks the other way, alone, mob will abuse him and try to push him down because of the frustration that either they didn’t not have courage to do what you are doing or they are sheople(sheep people?) who just follow the herds because they think other ways are wrong but their very own way they walk.
Remember, when people start to hate or discriminate you, you’re standing for something phenomenal. You don’t know that what is after the death, you don’t know that if their is rebirth or not. You may not get another life to live your dreams. Give yourself to your firm believes and you will see that at first they would stop you but when you would get to your dreams the very same people will praise you. At the very end of your time there will be a smile on your face and a satisfaction in your heart. Live like you have got only one chance.
